Label Properties Defined by Symbology Classes

Working with a large vector dataset with over 100 symbology classes I would like to be able to influence label colour (or halo colour) so that it matches each class's symbology. If I had a feature class with dozens of different coloured lines it would be nice to be able to automatically match the label colour to the line colour.

This could be done by linking the halo/text colour to the symbol's fill/border colour for polygons, line colour for polylines, or point colour for points. In cases with complex symbology it would be nice to be able to go in and reference a specific property of the symbology and transfer that property to the labels.

We can do this now with ArcGIS Pro.  Take a look at Creating label classes from symbology.  You can find the documentation here:
