ArcGIS Pro 3.4.0

If I add a slow item (drag-and-drop or "Add to current map") from the Catalog pane to the map, such as a georeferenced image, then it takes 30 seconds for anything to happen in the map. I often wonder if Pro is doing anything. Is it adding the image to the map? Or did my drag-and-drop not work, and I should try again?

As far as I can tell, there's no indication that Pro is thinking in the background in this scenario. The mouse pointer doesn't change, and there is no progress bar or progress icon in Pro showing that the image is loading.

Could that be changed so that we know when Catalog is thinking?

Hi @Bud
Open the Diagnostic Monitor and check if Pro is doing useless license checks.

I've not been able to work out what exactly triggers the behaviour, but once it starts Pro seems to get carried away often and just daydreams a lot. Various operations such as colour change in symbology, adding a layer, duplicating a map, etc take variable numbers of license checks - from a handful to 50+ that can make the UI unresponsive for a very long time.

In DM you'll see the HTTP block be green and the HTTP tab will just scroll endlessly at times.
