If a dataset / layer in a map causes a project to take too long to open ask user if layer should be removed/marked inactive

I have a layer  (possibly external service) that causes projects to take up to 30min to open.

Please add a process to ArcGIS Pro (on 3.5.1) to sanity check loading times.

If a source causes a project to take longer than a few seconds (or some reasonable time) to load, ping the user and asks if source should be removed, marked inactive (red !) or keep waiting.

Some data sources can be slow, but having to wait 30min before you can troubleshoot is not the best use of time.

Funny thing is - while it is chewing on the slow layer Pro has already locked other used FGDBs of that project so you cannot just do work in another instance.

I do feel that the project should be able to load gracefully before you can tell it to stop whatever it is doing.

mmmmm.

mm.

Nope.

The Stop button should be all encompassing and include stopping this scenario in its tracks.
The graceful action in this Idea should be first prize but no-one should be placed in a position to wait 30min for bad code.

Yes, had the same experience with WMS services in an earlier 3.x version and it was somewhat improved with the last releases.
