Hi,
I noticed that the CAD to Geodatabase (Conversion) tool, dossent import all data when different types of geometries are in the same group. For instance if i have annotations in a group with lines, only the lines are imported.
Could it be an idea to have an option to "flatten" or "ungroup all" in the import/ conversion?
Insted of having to open the DWG, use the command UNGROUP > All > Accept?
Its quite easy to work around this, however it might be handy to have.
Thanks for posting this idea.
To test this out, I created a "bare-bones" CAD drawing consisting of a single line and "Test" text. I then grouped both the line and text entities.
Next, I drag and dropped the DWG into ArcGIS Pro 3.3:
I see both the line and text (as annotation) loaded in ArcGIS Pro 3.3.
Is the above behavior what you were asking about in the original Idea post? If not, would you be willing to provide additional details on this topic?
We would also value any information you could provide regarding how your specific team uses line and annotations in ArcGIS Pro workflows.
Thanks for reaching out with this idea. As a follow-up to my 07-30-2024 response, and considering the enhancements released as part of ArcGIS Pro 3.2 (e.g., support for Annotation from CAD), we are marking this item as Closed.
