I often run Feature Vertices To Points (FVTP) with line input and "Both start and end vertex" as the Point Type. As you know, this gives you duplicate points where 2 or more lines meet.
After running FVTP, I have to remember to run Delete Identical to get a single point (aka: NODE for you Arc/Info geeks). Problem is, I sometimes forget and I get halfway thru my analysis and spew expletives and have to go back to the beginning.
It would be cool to have a parameter ("Delete Identical Points?" "Remove duplicates"? "Single Point Output"?) that, when checked, output single points (what Delete Identical does).
- I don't have to run Delete Identical
- More importantly, the parameter informs the user that multiple identical points will be output.
- I think it's a common use case.
