Feature Symbology Faster Editing

It would be really helpful if Esri could simplify the symbology editing workflow, at least for simple changes like changing a polygon outline color.  Where users can right-click a symbol in the Table of Contents to change a point, line, or polygon fill color, it should be just as simple to change an outline (perhaps via a 2nd color picker below the existing one, just for outlines).  It would be still better if users could change a point, line, or outline size/weight in the same popup.  

That's one thing that ArcMap did well that ArcGIS Pro still doesn't quite meet: the number of clicks it takes to change a polygon outline.  While the ribbon/pane UI is more intuitive for most users to learn, the symbology pane in particular pulls users away from the cartographic design cognitive space too often for too much time and too many clicks.  Over time, throughout projects or across multiple projects, that click-count and cognitive interrupt significantly accumulates.

It doesn't bother me.  I think you could diminish the number of clicks by adding styles to your gallery for patterns you often choose.  I don't think a larger content menu is the solution.

I too loved ArcMap.    if you double left click on a symbol in Pro instead of right click, it will bring up the symbology attributes box.  similar to ArcMap.  click on the Properties if it opens on Gallery.     It should remember the next time you double left click on a symbol and open in Properties making it quick to change.   

Only problem I have is that in ArcGIS Pro, there is no direct setting to make the attribute table automatically close when clicking "Apply" in the Symbology pane.  Requiring an additional step to close the window.

Instead, user workflow options include docking the table to easily toggle it off, closing the tab manually, or using the "Close Tab Group" option to clear multiple tables at once. 

If Esri could get that improved, that would be sweet 😁
