To be able to select an individual line or Polygon feature and be able to edit the properties of that particular selected feature. Example: Select a Line feature and be able to change the color, width and line type. A Polygon feature with all the same options and include a specific hatch for that individual polygon. This way I can make the selected individual feature stand out and highlighted from other features within that specific feature class.

Hi @PatrickAllen3 thank you for submitting this idea. Is this primarily about having better control over the selection symbology? 

If so, we have a couple of related ideas which get at that underlying request which is to be able to control the full symbology when selecting features:

Please clarify if the idea is about controlling selection symbology. Otherwise, we'll need more details around what you mean by "feature properties." Thank you!

It appears the second https link explains what I am talking about. If I highlight a particular Line or Polygon within a feature class I would like to be able to change the Properties of that selected feature as shown. The example below shows an individual closed line feature highlighted by selection, but going to this property symbology menu it will still control the entire line feature class. (a right-click properties option would be ideal)

Thanks for the specific example. For the example of selecting a line (in this case a closed line, but still a line, so polygon selection symbology is not relevant), does it work for you to open the layer properties > Selection and set 'Choose alternate color'?

Or are you actually trying to change the selection symbol, not just the color?

Apparently you are not understanding. If you look at my original post, its to change the properties of the selected feature whether it's a Closed line feature, single line or closed polygon solid feature. (I hate to bring this up, but this is how AutoCAD works.) as an individual not the entire layer (feature class). The option to bold a line, make its have a different line type and change the color. These options being the same for closed polygons as individual not the entire feature class or (layer) . say I want to single out a specific Parcel among many within the same feature class. I would be able to hatch that particular polygon, bold the perimeter with the Line type or edge of polygon and change the color to single out that parcel. As far as I know this cannot be done within ArcMap or GIS PRO. I Hope this make sense but maybe it cannot be accomplished with ArcPro and the way the symbology tools work.

Thank you for discussing this with me by phone @PatrickAllen3 We determined that making a layer from selected features and then leveraging the full symbology for the selection layer works well for you.
