Error Messages for Modifying Features (especially on "Explode")

ArcGIS Pro does not display informative error messages when attempting to modify features. When completing simple tasks that don't work or can't run, ArcGIS Desktop would often display a message explaining why a multi-part polygon could not be merged, such as differing z values or geometry errors. ArcGIS Pro however, doesn't do this, it often just sits there and seems to think it exploded the thing, but nothing happens. My troubleshooting process often involves me putting my feature class into desktop, attempting the same workflow and seeing what error pops up, and then being able to find a work around. This is becoming less practical as Desktop gets shelved and it's ability to work with streaming data or features with attachments enabled. I'm hoping error messages in ArcGIS Pro can be improved for easier user troubleshooting.

Hi Sarah, Thank you for the post... I have a three follow up questions and a comment...

1. What version of ArcGIS Pro are you using?

2.  For the Merge and Explode failures, it seems you retried in ArcMap and they failed there as well?  Do you know what ArcMap reported as the reason?  So we can attempt to repro ArcGIS Pro not reporting and improve this experience.   Are these Topology fixes that are failing as described in your other recent post?

3. Can you elaborate on this statement?  "This is becoming less practical as Desktop gets shelved and it's ability to work with streaming data or features with attachments enabled "

Comment:

For Merge and different Zs- As of ArcGIS Pro 3.3, it is possible to merge polygons with different Zs.   https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/editing/geometry-options-for-editing.htm#ESRI_SECTION1...
