error message for spaces in file- and path-names

When spaces in file- and path-names cause a tool not to run successfully
(e.g. importing E00 files), report a specific error message which states that
spaces are the problem. Currently a general error message (e.g. error 000856)
is provided, which does not make problem diagnosis easy.

I would lke to add something to this, rather than have an error messge why can't spaces be included in the name? A problem I routinely run into with Map Packages. People will always name folders with names that have spaces in them, no matter how many times i tell them not to do that. So why can't spaces be an acceptable character?
