I wish that I could specify how long line segments are and be able to "lock" the lengths. That way when I move a vertex it will pull the other vertices to maintain the lengths specified and maintain the endpoint locations. Similar to that of a string, you have the overall length but I need to figure out where the bends are. I work with water and sewer and sometimes it is hard to pin down the location of some things because of how it was inspected back in the 70s. I have an overall length of the lateral from curb box to building but there are three bends in between, without angles.
@KyleMCSE Can you please clarify if you are toggling Stretch Proportionately ON when editing the vertices? Doing so seems like it will give you the desired behavior.
Example usage:
@Scott_Harris This is not what I was looking for. In example one I do not know where the line exactly goes but I do know that the segments are 50, 25, and 70 feet. I also know where the endpoints are. I want to shift the bend to a more logical point so I grab the vertex and shift it to the side. The lengths of the segment stay but the vertices move while maintaining length (example two). I am not wanting to maintain the shape of the object, I want to maintain the segment lengths and have multiple vertices shift to maintain the overall length of line when a vertex is moved.
Example one:
Example two:
