Dynamic text - table attribute - use selected TOC layer

Unlike other part of ArcGIS Pro that use the TOC selection to drive the input features, insert dynamic text > table attribute elements seem to choose the first one alphabetically. This is undesired. In this case, I need to add several values from the same layer, and it's quite tedious to have to reselect it every time. It would be best to carry over the functionality that uses the TOC selection, which arguably must have been put in for this type of reason in the first place.

(P is first in the alphabet among my available layers, so that's what I'm assuming is happening)
