It is too easy for even a conscientious and experienced GIS user to inadvertently delete items such as a map, or layout in an ArcGIS Pro project. I googled "delete protect a map in an arcgis pro project" but only got hits for that functionality in ArcGIS Online.
MVP: As an ArcGIS Pro user, I would like the ability to 'delete protect' items such as Maps & Layouts that are only managed in Catalog as well as data that are BEST managed in Catalog such as geodatabases, shapefiles, even KMZ/Ls and non-vector data.
This should function similar to ArcGIS Online where there is a toggle switch on the item's properties page.
Beyond MVP: There would be a recycle bin for Maps and Layouts. This would not make as much sense for data deleted through Catalog since the purpose of deleting the data would most likely be to free up storage.
A map is often many hours of work.
After you forget it and come back few months later.
But someone in your organiosation used your project and delete your map.
In complement of the idea of @AlexZhuk https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/arcgis-pro-lock-the-map/idi-p/1117749 (it's not exact...
i hope an option on rigth click on the map in catalog panel to disable map deleting like in AGOL or AGE.
It's important to do this because when you publish on AGOL or AGE it's important to keep your first map in ArcGIS Pro.
