Chart Guide from Field Value

For the guide function in charts (specifically working in the Bar Chart), it would be really nice to be able to set the guide to a field value. I currently have a chart filtered by map extent and a layout that loops through my locations and changes the data. We're tracking vegetative regrowth at each location and they all have unique high and low reference points we'd like to compare the values against to know how they are tracking. If I could simply create a MaxRef and MinRef column in my data and populate each location's unique value and have them populate as the extent changes, that'd be superb. 

Bonus: it would also be nice to connect the two points with a line in addition to a box (which is the current function).
