Category Option in Catalog Pane in ArcGIS Pro

In ArcGIS Pro there is no option in the Catalog Pane under the Portal tab to search Portal Content using Categories. We have started to assign Categories to any Authoritative data with ArcGIS Enterprise and this would allow desktop users to simply navigate Authoritative content the same way ArcGIS Enterprise users currently do.

Thanks for submitting this Idea. I want to clarify something super quickly. Are you looking for categories in the Contents Pane (Idea title) or the Catalog Pane (Idea description)? Thank you!

Hi Valerie,

Apologies it is the Catalog pane that I would like to see this. You can select items from Portal all other ways except by using Categories which would line up with the same functionality as Portal.

Once categories have been defined and assigned in ArcGIS Enterprise from a web browser, you can filter portal items using those categories in ArcGIS Pro. On the Catalog pane, click the filter button and expand the Categories heading to filter the items available from My Content, My Organization, and Living Atlas. You can also filter portal items to only see items that are designated as providing Authoritative content, using the Status filter.
