Calculating geometry on feature classes with joined tables

When trying to calculate geometry on a feature class with a joined table, the error code "001486: Cannot use fields from joined tables" appears, despite trying to make the calculation on a field from the source table (as in, NOT the joined table). This was a common workflow possible in ArcMap, and should be made possible in ArcGIS Pro. The current workaround is to remove the join, make the calculation, then add the join again--an entirely tedious and inefficient process.

This limitation has been resolved in ArcGIS Pro 3.2, which will be released later this year. The fix is already in the early software snapshots, including the Beta being prepared for release to the early adopter community early this fall.

@DrewFlater thank you! That's great news.

This Idea has been implemented in ArcGIS Pro 3.2. Please see the What's New documentation for more new features in Pro 3.2.

The Your Ideas in ArcGIS Pro 3.2 blog and video have been posted to the Esri Community blog. You can take a look at these to see your idea and all others that were implemented in this release of ArcGIS Pro.

@KoryKramer This is still not working in Pro 3.2.2. Or at least, it's not working with an ArcGIS Online hosted feature class that is joined to an ArcGIS Online hosted data table.
