The Las Dataset toolbar in ArcMap contained tools for viewing a profile (Las Dataset Profile View) and opening a 3D view (Las Dataset 3D View) of your las dataset. The Las Dataset 3D view tool could be used to view either an open profile in 3D or the extent of the screen in 3D. These tools were simple, functional, and could be accessed from the regular (2D) map view of the las dataset.
ArcGIS Pro currently requires a 3D scene to use a profile tool on a las dataset and doesn't work nearly as well. The 3D controls are hard to navigate, the points often won't draw at all or only partially draw in the scene, you have to pre-set the width of the profile instead of setting it as you draw, and if you navigate too quickly the entire profile flies offscreen. I would love to see the simple functionality from ArcMap implemented (and improved) in Pro so that 3D scenes aren't required to inspect point cloud data.
Don't let the good parts of ArcMap die. Please bring this forward to Pro!
