I have a map series setup that is based on two datasets: boundaries and internal features.

The boundary names are used for the map series pages. The internal features contain the boundary name as well, but it is used to show more information. It's symbology is set to classified symbology. Currently it is needed to preset the class ranges to be based on the whole internal features dataset otherwise some data will not be visible when the map series prints.

This causes class ranges that are not applicable to the internal features of specific boundary areas, or that doesn't work well for the internal features of specific boundary areas since. This can cause confusing or a bad page and involves a lot of effort for work arounds.

It would be useful if it was possible to enable the class ranges to updated based on the data present in the map series page. This would result in much more accurate class ranges per page and a lot less effort and time to find a work around.

Hi @RenePretorius

We encountered a similar issue and we resolved it by using the "Apply Symbology From Layer" tool and used the Batch method (right click-on the tool) to update the ranges of each of the layers. I hope this helps.

Best,

Brian
