Update ArcScene to include the ability to share map packages (scene packages) and develop an arcpy.mapping module that works with .sxd documents.

This option would be soooo nice to have.  I have a python script that applies a single symbology from a layer file to multiple layers in the TOC.   This would be especially helpful in arc scene.

Yes it would be very nice to be able to use Arcpy.mapping with ArcScene (.sxd) documents.

What is the status of this?  I see that ESRI has been aware of it since 2011.

How to work with arcpy in scene document

I want to make an animated gif of 107 years of data using 3D visualization in ArcScene.  I generated the 107 grid layers with arcpy, ArcMAP and Spatial Analyst -- took just over a day, but completely unattended.  It should be trivial to render the layers and dump them out so that I can stitch them together into an animated gif -- but without scripting ability, I am looking days of tedium.
