In ArcMap, it would be useful to have the ability to order a legend by geometry type. This would be useful when working with MXDs that have a large number of layers. As it stands now if a user wants to order a legend by geometry type (point, line, polygon) they have to manually order the legend which can be a bit of a tedious process. Having the ability to group by geometry type would facilitate this task.
