Hello all,

I don't use the Modify Features pane and click on the Move tool. That is a waste of time. I select my point and I right click and choose "Move".

My problem is I have my panes docked and hidden on the right side of my window. Why? Because they take up way too much room on my screen to leave them open.

The minute I right click and choose Move my whole map shifts to the left as the pane opens. I do not want that pane to open and throw me off. I don't need a pane at all. Can we stop the pane from opening? Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Because the right-click Move pane is different from the Modify Features pane, it can be configured separately.

You can click the pin icon to set that pane to auto-hide. At the very least, this treats the move panel as an overlay the next time you activate it, which will not alter your map extent. I don't believe you can prevent it from appearing, however.

Also, if you're interested in avoiding wasted time, consider assigning Move to a keyboard shortcut like Alt + M.
