ArcGIS Online 7.4: Why there is no “reference registered data” option when publishing in ArcGIS Online?

I’m wondering why there is no why there is no “reference registered data” option when publishing in ArcGIS Online.

This would resolve a number of issues like data integrity. In this case, what edits are performed in the web\mobile with be reflected in the production database and vice versa

All what we need in this case is to have Real IP for the machine in which the data is stored. Security issues can be resolved.
