Change that annoying drop-down list control in the ArcCatalog Preview window to "radio" buttons. It could save so many clicks. It shouldn't be difficult to do, should it?

Make it sticky too! I never want to preview the geography so I am always having to switch the view to Table - please make it stay on the last used selection.

Better yet, add another Tab for Table View.

In ArcGIS Pro, Geography and Table previews are split onto separate tabs on the Details panel in the Catalog view:

It is also "sticky" in the sense that, while you are in this Catalog view on the same project, when you browse to and select a different dataset, your previously selected preview tab would stay the active tab.  For example if your were using the Table tab to preview a feature class, if you then select another feature class in this geodatabase, or browse to and select a shapefile under a folder, the Table tab would still the active tab for you to preview your newly selected item.

We are closing this idea since ArcMap and ArcCatalog are in mature support, and since this functionality is already offered in ArcGIS Pro.

Wow! I was fifteen (15!) years younger when I suggested this. And I see people still replying. Amazing!
