ArcCatalog 10.1 Software Download On Windows 8 Missing "Add OLE DB Connection"

I have ArcCtalog 10.1 install from a software download from ESRI on a Windows 8 PC and the "Add OLE DB Connection" ~tool as shown from the 10.0 installation

is not showing.

Chris - Customizing a dozen installations in order to return ArcGIS to past usability and functionality is NOT an elegant solution.

ArcGIS Desktop retired March 1, 2026 so we won’t be considering this idea. We recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro, our fully supported desktop GIS application.

For reference, the requested capability is already available in ArcGIS Pro in the Catalog pane and the Catalog view. For more information, see the Work with OLE DB Connections help topic.
