Posting this suggestion on behalf of my Defense Customer. Due to their working environment, there is very limited internet access.
Currently, ArcGIS Pro supports Revit data for direct reading, 3D geo-referencing and publishing. However, it would be definitely useful to allow GIS users to apply or make changes to the Revit model texture directly in ArcGIS Pro.
Is the request to simply change the color/texture of the Revit model in ArcGIS Pro (visualization), or to make a material (e.g. Revit material like Wood, Metal, etc.) type change?
Note that Materials is on the ArcGIS Pro Roadmap - September 2018 for a future release.
We're interested in understanding the specific requirements so that we can work with the dev team.
Thanks!
Hi @BennyYang,
You can add material libraries to a default folder location and use ArcGIS Pro to read them. You can additionally navigate to Options -> BIM and specify an alternative folder location with the texture images that you prefer to use.
Also, note that when using geoprocessing tools such as BIM File to Geodatabase:
If the BIM file contains textures, the multipatch feature class will maintain those textures.
Thanks for posting, and please let us know if the collective features indicated above address your Idea.
