Allow the rectangle textbox to grow or shrink based on the text within the box.  When creating data driven pages, I sometimes add long text to describe the data in the map.  If I size the textbox for the longest text and the text shrinks for one of the maps, I'm left with a large blank space between the bottom of the text and the bottom border of the box.
Also, within a rectangle textbox, allow me to control the vertical justification of the text.  Currently, it's only top justified.  I'd like the ability to make it center or bottom justifiy.
Thank you.
The option to allow text boxes to grow to fit text, or for the text to shrink to fit within the box, was implemented with rectangle text fitting strategies in ArcGIS Pro 3.3. The vertical justification has not been added yet. We recommend splitting off a new idea for that if you want to track it. Ideas posts with multiple requests can be tricky, because the requests don't always get implemented together.
I have the same issue with Dynamic Text.
For some reason, if you switch the new text to "Rectangular text" instead of the "Straight text," you will have no issue with "Text box that keeps making the font size increase if I change the shape of the text box"
I am currently using ArcGIS Pro 3.0.2
Thanks,
It's frustrating that this simple feature, present in ArcMap, still isn't implemented in Pro. Using straight text and a callout isn't always a solution as rectangle text reacts differently to formatting - specifically even line breaks.
Please just give us an 'resize rectangle to text' function, with the option to specify margin spaces, alignment etc.
