Nothing super fancy, but clearly useful to our team (I'm sure to others as well). It would be really useful if we could have an explicit obvious alert (a popup like what Excel does in these situation) when opening a ArcGIS Pro project (.aprx) if the project is already opened by someone else.
Our team works on a lot of projects and sometimes, more than one person can have something to do in certain projects which can already be opened by another teammate. The mention [Read only] in the top bar is not always something we see and we can make a lot of change before noticing it.
The read-only feature is alright, just the notification that can be made more obvious to users.
Here's a similar previous idea that was somewhat implemented, but I agree with you that a more obvious notification (maybe one requiring acknowledgement) would be even better: Read Only Warning in ArcGIS Pro - Esri Community
Ohhh, we haven't updated yet to 3.4 where it's been implemented (or even 3.5 as of now). I forgot to mention the version we were using (3.1). We are planning to update soon, so we'll see if the new implementation helps. But it does still seem a bit subtle. But it's a step forward. I like your idea of requiring an acknowledgement. Thanks for the headsup!
@Qu4n7um If your organisation has ArcGIS Enterprise, you may want to take a look at Portal Projects Work together in ArcGIS Pro | Shared update groups and portal projects
