Please consider adding a tool in ArcCatalog that will alow us to create a model that will update data that is stored in ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
Useful features:
- Warn if the schema is different between the existing feature class and the new feature class. If the schema is different give the user the option to abort, or ignore updating the data.
- If a user is updating data from a regular feature class, then keep the existing symbology from ArcGIS Online.
- If a user is updating data from a layer file, then ask the user if they want to update symbology with the .lyr file, or keep the existing AGOL symbology.
Rational:
Currently we use model builder to publish data from a production Geodatabase to a published / presentation Geodatabase. In addition to updating data that gets consumed by ArcGIS Desktop, and ArcGIS Server, it would also be useful if we could add a tool in our model so that the data in AGOL can get updated as well.
