Ability to turn off legend patches for raster layers (ex. aerials)

It would be great if we had the ability to turn patches completely off in the legend. Especially for rasters, where the RGB colors do not need to be shown in the legend.
Right now the trick we use is to set the patch sizes to 0.00001, because you can never complete turn them off. (0,0 does not work) Unfortunately, it still leaves a really tiny patch.
