Hello,
I look under supported services and Web map is listed, but I am assuming this is not WMS?  I try to add a WMS and it says not supported.  So I am assuming these services need to be served up through ArcGIS Server?

This is the WMS URL I was trying to use:
http://www.lio.ontario.ca/wmsconnector/com.esri.wsit.WMSServlet/wms_administrative

Thanks.

Hi Ryan,

Currently, WMS is not a supported content on ArcGIS.com. For a full list of what is supported, click on this link: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisonline/help/index.html#//010q0000000m000000.htm If the service was published from ArcGIS Server with WMS capabilities, you can simply use the map service instead and that will load with arcgis.com.

Thanks,
Chris

This is unfortunate for us.  We are a government organization and as such we provide our outward facing services in an as open format as possible.  I believe our WMS are based off of ArcGIS Services, but we only expose the WMS.  I assume this means we cannot use ArcGIS.com to produce maps, and neither can anyone else who would like to use our data?

You are correct. ArcGIS.com will not be able to make maps with your WMS services.

Thanks,

Rumor has it that the next version will support WMS and kml. What's up?

Yes that is the rumor...  It is on our list of things to do. As to when it will be released, I can't give you an exact date.  We have a long list of enhancements and things tend to get shuffled around. But it is currently on the list for the next big release...

Thanks,

Mike
