I have 40 or so points (Map Notes) in a map of Colorado.  Is there a way to make the labels (like the ones that pop up when you mouse over one of them) stay on all the time?

What product are you using? ArcGIS Explorer Desktop, ArcGIS Explorer Online? I don't, however, think there is a way to always keep all of them open, if that's what you want.

Thanks,

Mike

I'm using the ArcGIS.com viewer (Javascript).

Is it still not possible to add labels to the map?  I don't mean popups.  I want to add arrows and labels that map readers can simply read, without clicking.

??

Thanks.

it is possible to add text labels, but you can only add them as map notes in Explorer Online.

The ArcGIS.com map viewer doesn't support these labels perfectly yet, there are some issues.

  • You can't add text labels in the map viewer

  • The text doesn't always look exactly the same as it does in Explorer Online

  • The positioning of the text is off, it gets shifted.

Hope this helps,

Mike
