When searching using Web Apps, can we disable the Search Result pop-up?

I have a search setup in my web app, I would like users to be able to navigate the map using this, but I dont want the users to be presented with any information about the street they searched. 

Is there any way we can disable the 'search result' window from appearing (and this will hopefully disable the highlight of the street from showing)?

I have a similar question relating to an embedded map.

The embedded map is configured to open at a selected feature. Is there a way to disable the search results window and the feature being highlighted. Please see screengrab below with the window that it is wished to deactivate.
