Way to view current elevation on Collector using DEM?

Is it possible to see what your current elevation is in collector? I have used the "Add Geometry Attributes" to include z values of all assets, but I was wanting the ability to see elevation of where a field worker is standing so they can see the elevation difference between themselves and the asset. I was thinking could download a DEM as a basemap, but didn't know how you could view the elevation from that.

If not, is there an external application that could say what the elevation is where you are at on an ipad?

Appreciate any recommendations!

A dem by its nature would prohibit your field people from using it.  Refresh times would be measured with a calendar.

Change your base map to the Topographic map it shows contours

Yeah contours probably will be the best way, it would be an amazing feature to be able to see current elevation wherever you're at though. Thanks Robert.

However, many DEMS are in meters. If you info the spot your at the pixel result will either be feet or meters. Most I have seen are meters.
