Using maps made online in ArcGIS?

Is it possible to save a map I made online, so that I can use it in my ArcGIS? If not, where do I go to get maps that I can save and edit?

I am new to all of this so I do not know what to do.

Yes, it is possible to open web maps inside of ArcGIS Desktop. Unfortunately, a recent update to ArcGIS.com has broken the ability to open these maps in ArcGIS Desktop. We are currently working on a patch to desktop to fix the problem. It will be available shortly (within a week or so). When it does become available, we'll post a link to it.
