Updating a Shapefile in ARGIS.COM map

I have created a map that I am trying to update the data once a week.  The only way I see is by adding the data every week and resenting the symbology.  I try by adding a shapefile and then using that file that can be updated but I can added to my map.  Please help.

The only workflow that currently supports what you want to do is to use ArcGIS server to host a map or feature service that gets updated weekly. Any changes to the service will automatically appear in the web map.

In the future, we will be adding support for these workflows:

  • You will be able to add a CSV file on the web by reference. Whenever a web map is opened, the CSV file will be read again and any changes will appear in the map. CSVs support point locations. This will be released in early December.

  • You will be able to purchase a subscription to ArcGIS Online that will allow you to create services from your data. The current plan is to release this in the second quarter 2012.
