Background: We complete all of our utility editing in a traditional versioned SDE database with geometric networks. The data has corresponding hosted feature layers in AGOL, which are updated on a daily basis using the process detailed here https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000023164
We noticed that for some of our utility data the update process hasn't succeeded since June, 2022 right around the time of the AGOL update. The Publish Item method used in our script is working for many layers, while it fails with the following error for others:
"WARNING 000710: Unable to connect to the server"
We tested publishing these layers manually to the same account in AGOL, with no success and the following error:
Server Response: ERROR: code:400, Invalid URL, Invalid URL, Bad syntax in request
We have looked into weird date fields, or definition queries as possible reasons for the errors, but neither was fruitful. The only strong pattern we have found between which SDE layers successfully publish vs. those that do not is in the type of network infrastructure used in the geometric networks.
All of the simple points & polygons are publishing fine, but the junctions and edges fail and throw an error.
Question: Did anything happen in the June, 2022 AGOL update that would inhibit users from publishing features that are junctions or edges in a geometric network? Do we need to recreate our geometric networks? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?
Thanks!
