I have a hosted feature service that was created and is maintained using ESRI Maps for Office.  End users can create, updated, and delete features as needed.  They have a spreadsheet in which they add several new rows per week; they also can go back and revise previous rows.  The use the update functionality in ESRI Maps for Office to facilitate this.  This service needs to be shared publicly WITHOUT allowing anonymous editing.  How can I accomplish this?

Hi Joshua,

Editor Tracking may help in this case: Manage hosted web layers—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS

Are the same editors going to be updating features that they have added or will they be updating features that others have added?

Are all of the users that will be updating the data in your organization? If so, consider creating a group with the item update capability enabled: Share items—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS . This will allow users who are members of the group to update the feature service by opening the layer with full editing control, while editing will be disabled for all other users.

Cheers,

Kelly
