I have a map with a about two dozen features clustered in an area roughly defined by 60°, 53°, -110°, and -120°. I embed this map in a Squarespace website.

I'd like the map to always open to this extent by default. It's not helpful to show geography outside of this extent. How can I do that?

I tried setting the extent in Settings > Set Extent, but that doesn't control the extent when the map appears on the website.

How can I control the default visible extent in the way I describe?

In Map Viewer under settings you can preserve your map scale so on any resolution device it opens to that set scale and initial viewpoint. This can be set in Map Viewer https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/create-maps/set-map-properties-mv.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_D2850B49...
