Richer Symbology for Arcgis Online Feature services

I know this is a long shot.  Here it goes... in the near future will ESRI allow the publication of map services to ArcGIS online without the need for ArcGIS for Server?  I would like to be able to have the carefully selected symbology (hatches, dashed lines, text labels) all transfer over and appear in the final product that I upload to our organizational account.  If I am mistaken in my understanding of the abilities of ArcGIS online and the just Desktop 10.1 and and organizational account will accomplish what I have already suggested please let me know, and point me to some literature that provides these instructions.  ArcGIS for server is not an option for me.

ArcGIS Online for Organizations allows for hosted feature services and tiled map services. Based on your outline, a hosted tiled map service should suffice, and ArcGIS for Server is not required if you have an Organization since it will be hosted on our cloud.
