Publishing a feature service to AGOL from ArcMap - Server-side post-processing takes forever

Why does it take literally hours for server-side post processing to complete when publishing a feature service to ArcGIS Online from ArcMap?

I'm only trying to publish a single feature class which is only showing as 17MB (although there are several hundred thousand features) - why on earth does it take so long?

Did the feature service get published?

ArcGIS Online is a cloud, so the speed could be much slower than the publishing to ArcGIS Server in physical machine.

And several hundred thousand features? That's a big number.

If the concerned Feature Service didn't get published, you might like to raise a ticket with Esri's technical support. They can work closely to resolve the issue. In this case, please share the solution with us so that it would be helpful for the GeoNet users.
