Thank you very much, this proved to be of great help to us.
I have one question though, I customized the application to fit out need. Here is the link to it.

Everything looks alright on all browsers but on IE. On IE the legend tab turns out blue. I checked out the css and looks alright esp. when I have no issues with other browsers.  Can you please tell me what  needs to be done to display it right on IE.

Thanks a lot.

Hi oppudel,

I think the display issues are related to a lot of colors having double number signs for colors. I see a lot of  "##000000" wich should be "#000000" and it's probably ignoring the colors in some browsers and not others. If you need to change the CSS gradient colors the following site is a great tool for doing so.

http://www.colorzilla.com/gradient-editor/

Hope that helps.

We would like to use arcgis explorer online instead of the simple viewer.  Is this possible and if so how do I configure this?

Yes, this is possible and will be a config option in the next release.

Currently, you'll have to go into "/scripts/home/local.js" and search for "map.html" and change that to "http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html".

Thanks

The public map gallery template is very nice - several departments at the City of Albuquerque are highly interested in using it to share maps with the public.  However, there is a need to allow users to turn on and off layers.  This can be done now - sort of. You have to click on About, then Map Contents, then Open, then Open in ArcGIS.com Viewer, then click an unlabeled button.  Hard for the average citizen.

It would be much more useful and simple to just enable turning on and off layers in the Legend section of the map in the gallery.

Thanks,

Hi Mike,

That's a great suggestion. I'll see if I can get that into the next version of the template. There will also be an option to use the ArcGIS viewer instead of the simple map viewer.

Thanks for your feedback!

Hello,

I would like to remove the footer and the yourLogo image.  Does anyone know what file needs to be edited?

Thanks,

Hi jprado,

Yes. If you open up index.html in a text editor you should be able to find the HTML at the bottom that if removed, will remove the footer and logo.

This sends it to the arcgis.com viewer, can you send it directly to Explorer Online?  Also how do you change the url for our added logo so that it goes to our homepage instead of index.html?  Sorry but I am not a developer either.

Yep. You should be able to change it to use ArcGIS explorer. Instead of using the previous URL, use this one.

Instead of
map.html?webmap=

Use
http://explorer.arcgis.com/?open=

If you open index.html or map.html and scroll to the bottom. you can change the code below to use your website link. The HREF attribute of the <a> anchor tag.

<div class="logoDiv footBorder"><a title="Your Logo" href="http://yourwebsite.com" class="hostedBy"></a><a href="mailto:email@yourorg">email@yourorg</a></div>

Hope that helps. Let me know if you get it working.
