I am working with data for which I need PLSS data for. I was able to find the data by adding it through the 'add basemap' feature. It is my understanding that the data I add online will be in the Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere projection. My data I need to use with that map is in a different projection. I have tried to use the project tool to reproject my data into the Mercator projection however it still does not align my data with the added basemap. Am I missing a step here or can some one help me figure out how I can get these two to align. I will need to add other shapefiles of my data to this map and I need to make sure I can get everything in the same projection.
