Hi everyone,
I'm trying to upload a WebScene from ArcGis Pro to AGOL and the error I keep getting is: "Creating the scene cache failed"
The scene has some custom 3D models; they come from Blender, exported as fbx and inserted as multipatch; nothing really heavy.
I used the same process in the past but this is the first time I get this error, can anyone help me get through this?
Thanks in advance,
Marco
What type of account do you have? If you have a developer or trial account this wont support multipatch hosted feature layers and cause the cache to fail. If not one of those account types do you know what hive you are publishing to? This can be seen in the hosted feature layer url next to the services#.arcgis.com
Hi Russ,
my User Type is Professional Plus and my Role is Administrator. The hive is unipd.arcgis (University of Padua in Italy).
Thanks for the help!
If you publish a hosted feature layer on the item details page you should see a services.arcgis.com url. Do you see a number with that one? Also something to try is zipping up a file geodatabase with just the multipatch feature class in it and see if that publishes when going through ArcGIS Online My content > New Item and use the zipped geodatabase.
Unfortunately I deleted all the attempts gone wrong and emptied the bin. Next time I'll look if I see the number with the url.
I wiil also try to upload the zipped geodatabase as a workaround.
What I do not understand is that it's not the first time I do this process and it always worked straight. Can it be a matter of file format? Maybe it likes collada instead of fbx????
Any suggestion is more than welcome....
