Possible to set file upload size limit for certain roles in ArcGIS Online?

In our ArcGIS Online for Orgs account, we have a certain role set up for many of our staff. For that role we have it so that those staff cannot upload files/publish hosted feature services (to avoid unnecessary storage credit use, in case they would upload large shapefiles or geodatabases). But is there a way we could allow those staff to upload files (shapefiles, geodatabases, etc) but only under a certain file size?

No, this is not possible. The credit budgeting tools also don't constrain it:

Here are things you can do to help:

  • Training. Remove publisher rights until they have undertaken training and understand the implications of their usage.
  • Monitoring. Use the status tools and item sizes to understand who is using the most credits and what items are the most impactful. Users not following good practice can go back to training / have their rights removed.

This still applies in other environments, e.g. Portal for ArcGIS. Even though it doesn't cost credits, it takes up server resources, so we want our GIS users to understand best practices when it comes to publishing and uploading content.
