Good morning,
Just wanted to see if anyone else is running into issues with uploading PDF's or any document at all to their layers in Map Viewer. I've tried pdf, jpg, xls, and a few others and I always get This file type is not supported. All of them are well under the 10 mb limit.
I have numerous documents uploaded on the layer already, so it has worked in the past.
Solved! Go to Solution.
@NathanGabbard we've tracked down the issue you were seeing. There's a bug in Map Viewer, where Drag and Drop for Attachments in the form is not working. Using the file browser, i.e. clicking Add File, should work for you and I believe it does.
We're evaluating if we can address the Drag and Drop issue for Attachments in Map Viewer for this release.
I am also unable to access any attachments in a layer in Map Viewer. In contrast, before the update on Friday, I could see and edit (add or remove) any attachment associated with any collected point.
Thanks for the confirmation. This update seems to have been a doozy! Not being able to upload documents is a serious issue though...
@NathanGabbard @Teri_Dane can you invite "craig_sp" user to a group that has access to the data?
That will allow us test this out.
For what it's worth, I just tried testing this on one of my hosted feature layers and I was able to successfully attach both a JPG and PDF file....
Are you still experiencing the issue today?
If so, definitely worth opening a support case with Esri to get it logged as a potential bug
Hi @Katie_Clark , out of curiosity have you made any changes to the form (using the new attachment element) on this layer? Or have there been no form changes
No I didn't make any changes, just using the default form. I was testing on this layer, editing within this Map Viewer edit interface (screenshot shows a second attempt where I successfully added a word doc)
Hi @Katie_Clark,
Yes, I am still experiencing this today. I am unable to view/edit (add or delete) attachments in either Map Viewer or Experience Builder based on a map with the same layer.
@NathanGabbard and @Teri_Dane. I am unable to reproduce this behavior. Can you try to clear your cache on the browser, reload and then upload a document attachment that was failing? If the issue still persists, please invite the "craig_sp" user to a group that has access to the data like @CraigGillgrass mentioned so we can see what's going on
Hi BBollin,
I just added Craig to the group for access. My co-worker in the Planning department was the one who notified me. It seems to be not just my computer/browser.
