Losing symbology when uploading feature layer

When I upload my data from Pro to Online the symbology is not preserved. I successfully uploaded this data once before, but accidently reset the symbology and need to reupload it. I have made sure to check the "Use symbol types compatible with all clients" when creating the web layer. Also when I add the hosted feature layer from online to pro the symbology is correct but it is not correct in map viewer.
