Loading data from ArcGIS Online in ArcMap desktop

I have issues loading data from ArcGIS Online into ArcMap desktop.

I created a new map with webmap tiles from Mapbox and several of my own shapefiles in ArcGIS Online.
I wanted to open this in ArcGIS desktop, from the My Content page.
A .pkinfo file was downloaded, but after opening this file I only got a blank ArcMap workspace.

I tried the 'Add data from ArcGIS online' in ArcMap, but my content was shown empty as well.

Could it be that my free ArcGIS online account does not support this link to ArcMap desktop?
