I had lovely line work in PRO - segment lines with a starting perpendicular line and and offset direction of flow arrow at each line start. Of course AGOL did not like it.
I went through all the symbology options in AGOL and don't seem to be able to get an arrow at the START of each line segment. One arrow per each segment at the start only.
Question 1 - did I miss something in the AGOL symbology? Is there an option for start of line only?
If not - Question 2 - can someone point me to some code so I can show the lines in this manner?
If still not, I am thinking I will publish multiple of the same data - once for the boring lines, and another for the arrow point. Seems overkill to me - have others found a better solution?
Dear EveSprawling,
I hope you are doing well,
With Dictionary option in the symbology section in ArcGIS Pro, you can do almost what-ever you want.
Please check my github in the below link. There is a sample project of Dictionary renderer.
https://github.com/AmirSarrafzadeh/symbology_dictionary
I also attached some useful links to learn more in details about the dictionary rendrerer.
Just remember you will need ArcGIS Pro and DB Browser for SQLite for opening .stylx file, and you need a little knowledge of Arcade to figure out the .stylx.

I also attached a random pircture of my project in Github,
All the symbols, colors and text you see are dynamic.
hope it helps,
for any more information please let me know.
Can you share a style file with the symbol and I can take a look? Where are you viewing this symbol - Map Viewer or Map Viewer Classic?
Quick sample here is Map Viewer
Pro
Thanks!
Hi. Thanks. Map Viewer. The arrows here are at the end of the lines. I need them at the beginning.
I went back in Pro and did Share - Overwrite layer. This time I turned off "make symbology compatible for all users." The symbology publishes as it does in Pro.
This is a line feature. 3 parts to the symbol. Thin very light grey line, with a perpendicular line at the Start point (break between segments) and arrow of direction.
