I cannot get the usual <iframe> with AGOL map parameters to work in a page at the free Wordpress.com .  Wordpress says (I think) that it will work.  Esri says that it will not.  What's going on?

Here is what Wordpress says:

"Iframe shortcode is the replacement of the iframe html tag and accepts the same params as iframe html tag does. You may use if]ame shortcode to embed content from YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps or from any external page."

But an Esri blog says it will not work for an AGOL iframe:

"Something to keep in mind is that different blogging platforms offer different capabilities. For example, the free WordPress.com blogs do not support embedding ArcGIS Online maps, but if you roll your own WordPress blog then you can. "

Why is this?   Wordpress.com also goes out of its way to explain that it supports Google Map embeds.  (http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/)

Why Google but not Esri?
