How to display a layer with a click on the popup

Dear Community,

we're having an application where our users can see several polygons which represent several plan areas.

For those areas we're having georeferenced plans too.

The problem is, that these georeferenced plans would overlap each other.

My thought was to offer the user a Hyperlink >>Show in map<< where, after he hits the button, the plan is getting active.

Our old system was able to do so with using a WMS

When I try the same with an expression in the popup, the image opens in a new tab (and not with same extent/activated layers)

I would be very happy about any idea
