Hi, I am regular user of ArcGIS for desktop but am new to ArcGIS Online. Our company has two offices and we want to be able to use/view/edit a single data set from our two different offices. I cannot find any information about working with offline geodatabases (housed in folders on our network), but I assume this a pretty basic task for a lot of organizations that use this software; I am guessing that I am missing something basic. The Add button for ArcGIS Online does not offer connections to locally stored GDB/feature classes. The one option I see is a compressed Shapefile but I would be shocked if I truly needed to export any feature class I wanted to work with as a shapefile, then compress in order to work with it in Arc Online.
Anybody else come across this or have some insight for me? Many thanks.
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
For those requirements, you'll most likely want to publish your feature classes as hosted feature layers...
